Shotbyme.at is meant to serve as my personal online-portfolio
and share-point for my photography. I certainly have
outgrown my previous site at www.photo-corner.at.tf,
and I also realized what I really wanted to focus on.
And that's how this design came into being.
Two years ago, I never would have thought that I could find such a strong interest in a creative art; given my daily job in IT, I always thought of myself as a very "technical" person.
Even when I picked up my first digital camera (my Fujifilm S5000) in October 2003
I didn't realize what would happen to me ;-). It took almost another year (until September 2004) before the "flame really ignited".
Since December 2004, I'm now shooting with high-quality Nikon Gear, and have sought to constantly improve my skills, my technic, and my "eye" for good images. With some dedication, I was also able to
get access into more interesting shoots, and this is especially reflected in my photojournalism pictures.
But even though I try to shoot and expand my options in a highly professional manner, right now, photography remains a hobby and NOT a job. I'm very much aware of the tight law restrictions imposed on commercial photography here in Austria, and after much thought found it easier
and more liberating to simple treat this as a spare-time activity instead of trying to make any money of it. That means you can't pay me for my pictures; but if you have an interesting idea, I'm always open-minded and welcome an offer for a shooting.
